This rod combines "light and easy casting and handling" with "powerful ability to hold fish after hooking them."
It's a professional-grade boat casting rod in the PE5/PE6 range, offering exceptional handling and making it suitable for bluefin tuna, kiramasa, and 40kg yellowfin tuna.
Within the entire OceanSprinter series, this rod is designed with the "sharpest and most precise" action, and it's also the one the development team uses most frequently for bluefin and yellowfin tuna casting.
■ Development Philosophy The core idea of the OceanSprinter series is to increase the catch rate and maximize the rod's inherent lift power.
Big fish often appear in front of you in an instant.
When a fish continues its relentless surge under heavy load, the key to successfully bringing it up lies in the rod's strong resilience and natural, linear bending curve. This is especially true when fishing in poor weather or strong currents in shallow waters.
The rod bends naturally under increased load, preventing sudden and excessive tension on the fish; it also reduces the angler's burden, allowing for continuous and stable pressure on the fish.
This design significantly improves casting performance, noticeably reducing body load and greatly increasing casting efficiency for everything from small to large lures.
■ Real-world Testing Record
Real-world testing was conducted in the Nagasaki Goto Islands, Kitakyushu for amberjack casting, and in yellowfin tuna fishing off the coast of Mie.
One rod can cover the feeding patterns of fish ranging from sardines to mahi-mahi.
Compared to other models like the 838 and 8110, this fishing rod is less strenuous on the body, offering a sharper handling feel while retaining its ability to attract fish.
Whether casting for extended periods or against the wind, it allows for quick wind cuts and a smooth, effortless release (suitable for weights up to approximately 100g).
It's also quite practical for yellowfin tuna up to 40kg.
■ Regarding Fight Position
Low position fighting guards are not recommended.
When using a PE6 rod, if the fight can be completed within 10 minutes, a fighting guard is usually unnecessary (except for large fish weighing over 40kg that require a prolonged fight, in which case it can be used as needed).
Do not keep the rod too upright during the fight.
As long as the rod butt (the base of the rod) can withstand the load, you can fully utilize the lifting force of the rod stock. If the rod is laid too flat (lying down), although it puts more pressure on the fish, it also increases the burden on your body. Adjust your position according to the size of the fish, the time commitment, and the fishing conditions.
※ Fixing the rod butt to a fighting guard may reduce your reaction time to sudden fish lunges,
and may also increase the risk of losing the fish. Please use it as appropriate.
