The Polunga 40 has a unique form with a core body that has a slightly backward center of gravity and a slightly long skirt that flutters in the water current.
The effect of the skirt wrapping the whole body makes it a "soft small rubber jig" when set with a jig head. When an offset hook is attached, a snagless effect is added on.
Finished with a soft material to increase the hooking rate.
A soft bait that can be changed in many ways, created by Mr. Shuji Iwasaki, who is active mainly at Lake Takataki in Chiba Prefecture.
A soft bait that can change its shape
The 24 long skirts with spherical tips extend from the core body. The ideals of expert anglers have been materialized into a completely new soft bait using advanced molding technology.
Sometimes it can be used as a small rubber jig, sometimes as a sinking insect worm, and sometimes as an imitation grub. Combined with its ability to adapt to all kinds of rigs, Polunga has an unprecedented impact that will open up new doors for bass even under high pressure.
Features
24 skirts wrapping the body
The Polunga has 24 skirts (4 directions x 6 skirts = 24 skirts in total) extending from the body. The skirts are approximately 20mm long and are characterized by a large shelf pull due to water resistance. When paused, the individual skirts randomly and spontaneously shake to attract fish by receiving a slight lake current.
The tapered skirt has a spherical tip, which amplifies the movement of the skirt and attracts the fish's interest. In many cases, the bluegill will show interest and then the bass will bite.
Slit for offset hooks
A slit is provided on the back of the bait. This makes it easier to attach an offset hook and improves the hooking rate.
The softness of the material has also been carefully selected to improve the hooking rate.
F mark on the back of the head
Polunga 40 is a JB/NBC certified eco-tackle (FECO) product. It can be used without problems in tournaments held under the Eco-Tackle Rule.
The back of the head of the main body is stamped with the F mark, indicating that it is a certified eco-tackle product. It can be identified even when it is out of the package.
High specific gravity salt-in material
High specific gravity salt-in material is used to secure its own weight and sinking speed. The crustacean formula and salt in the material enhance the taste effect, making it a "good biting" material.
(Polunga 40 does not contain any materials that are suspected of causing environmental hormones.
Rigging
Jig head rig
When set up with a jig head, the entire body produces the flaring action characteristic of small rubber jig. It is truly a full-body small rubber jig.
The total weight of the lure on its own (approx. 4g) plus the jig head weight does not require severe tackle. It can be used not only for shallow water fishing, but also for attacking invisible structure sinking offshore.
No sinker
The Polunga's weight is about 0.5g heavier than an imitation grub of the same size, making it easy to use with no sinker.
It is not suitable for long casting due to the resistance of the skirt, but it will give you enough distance. Because of the air resistance, it is easy to control the timing of line release during casting, which is advantageous for accurate casting.
The fluttering action of the skirt on the fall and the flaring action caused by slow and rapid line tension appeal to bass. When you feel that a no-sinker lure with an imo grub or straight worm is not enough, the Porunga is the lure for you.
Carolina Rig
Mr. Iwasaki's Carolina rig has been highly successful at Lake Takataki. The push of the skirt in the water lets bass know that it is there when they search a wide area. In addition, the lure makes soft contact when it comes into contact with oda, etc., so even resident bass will bite it without any discomfort.
