Grip
High-grade cork grip. Reel seat features Fuji PMTS (Palming Micro Trigger Seat).
Spiral Guide System
In HIROism, the guide configuration is set in a way where the top guide and the second guide at the tip are positioned approximately 30 degrees apart in a 180-degree rotation starting from one guide above the butt guide.
This setup ensures that even during battles with trophy-class fish, contact between the line and the blank is minimized, allowing for powerful fishing techniques to be employed.
Furthermore, the placement of the top and second guides ensures the straight trajectory of lures, guaranteeing a seamless casting feel without discomfort, whether performing overhead or side casts.
Ferrule (SJ2, LJ2)
An over-ferrule design that provides a usage experience comparable to the 1-piece model. Equipped with a white marking line to align the spiral guide angles appropriately.
Guides
All models feature Fuji stainless frame SiC-S guides. The top guide only uses a titanium frame SiC-S guide. Spiral guide configuration is employed for all models.
CALYPSO SJ MODELS
The SJ models are designed with the fundamental goal of effectively using jerkbaits smaller than 100 mm. In order to achieve the desired action for lures of this size, the rod action has been tuned to an extra-fast direction. As a result, it is well-suited not only for poppers and swishers but also for smaller pencil baits, enabling precise and dynamic presentations. This makes it an optimal choice for lures such as minnows under 100 mm, the Pop R (P60), Baby Torpedo, and Super Spook Jr.
Even in the two-piece model, great attention has been given to balance, ensuring that its casting efficiency remains consistent with that of the one-piece model.

In the LJ models, the incorporation of a fast taper action into the rod has been carefully balanced to enable more effective manipulation of minnows exceeding 100 mm while maintaining the necessary power to handle larger minnows. As a result, the versatility of this rod expands, allowing for a wide range of fishing tactics. Not limited to just Zaraspook-sized pencil baits, poppers such as P65 and P71, and frog-style lures, it also empowers angling strategies like spinnerbaits and shallow crankbaits around obstacles.
Even in the two-piece model, significant emphasis has been placed on achieving balance, ensuring that its casting efficiency remains consistent with that of the one-piece model.
