Aim for the big size!
Leptis is a semi-long type metal jig created for catching larger than average size fish in light jigging games.
It goes against the compact type that has become the mainstream of light jigging games these days, but it reduces bites from small fish as much as possible, and when you hook it, it's huge! We realized this.
Quick fall speed
The tail-heavy type Leptis achieves quick fall speed and makes the bottom touch clear even at points where the current is fast. In addition, the quick fall speed makes it possible to easily create a tensioned state, and it is also characterized by good response to rod action.
Moderate pulling comfort
The Leptis' moderate pulling comfort, which is neither too heavy nor too light, not only makes it easy for anglers to detect changes in the current and fish trends, but also allows anglers to continue fishing for a long time without getting tired.
Development manager Tatsuro Yoshizawa talks about the development background of Leptis
While developing items for Forten medium, spin bits, and light jigging, I always felt the need for items that focused on type fishing, rather than fishing in numbers.
In other words, if you want to catch a lot of fish, you can reliably catch a variety of fish by using Forten and Spin bits. However, it was also true that at some point I suddenly felt a desire to break away from fishing.
Hairtail jigging in Tokyo Bay, which is one of my home grounds, has become increasingly popular in recent years, and has become a field where many anglers gather. Fortunately, we are currently catching fish, but we hope to catch a lot of them! Bring home a lot! I'm worried that if I repeat this over and over again, I'll run out of fish somewhere.
If that's the case, wouldn't it be better to make a jig that allows you to target and catch big fish even if you reduce the number of fish? I want to protect the fish, but I also want to catch them. If I'm going to catch one anyway, I'd like to choose a large one.
The development of Leptis started with this idea in mind.
