Product Introduction:
An El Horizonte designed for targeting trophy-class fish with big baits.
The fusion of “Power” and “Flexibility.”

A unique blank was born by combining two opposing characteristics into one rod design.

Designed for a wide range of large-game lure casting applications, this model was originally developed to meet demands for targeting Mongolian taimen using big baits. It later became one of the iconic rods that helped ignite today’s monster fish and big bait movement. A true classic capable of covering an extensive variety of target species.

Faithful to TULALA’s long-standing philosophy of “Fishing = Travel,” this rod goes beyond targeting Japanese huchen and monster brown trout. Depending on the angler, its potential target range is virtually limitless.

Regular Taper × Heavy Action Design

Designed around PE #3–#4 setups, the rod features a Regular Taper and Heavy Action configuration optimized for smooth casting of lures and rigs up to approximately 200 g.

Lures in the 2–4 oz (56–113 g) range are especially comfortable to use. Its powerful mid-section securely loads the lure weight, making lure manipulation easier and more controlled.

The butt section delivers proven lifting power, providing enough strength to pull large fish away from rocks, structure, and heavy current areas in fast-moving rivers.

Even at the lower end, the rod can effectively handle lures around 15–30 g. This broad lure range becomes particularly valuable during travel situations where tackle choices are limited.

When targeting large trout species with big baits, anglers need both the ability to impart actions such as twitching and a rod with enough flexibility to absorb violent head shakes and rolling after hook-up.

By deliberately placing sensitivity as a secondary priority — almost contrary to industry trends of the time — TULALA created a unique blank combining two opposing characteristics: power and flexibility. This philosophy later became part of the core DNA inherited throughout subsequent TULALA rod designs.

Since the brand’s inception, it has remained one of the company’s most beloved and iconic models.
