Description
The bends are endless." Adopting MPG material
A rod for slow pitch jerking that has obtained a threatening power by adopting MPG material
Alphatackle, a sister brand of Tailwalk, has been offering a wide range of boat-fishing gear since its launch in 1978, and MPG (Magnum Power Glass) is the brand's top-of-the-line blank material for boat fishing. MPG is a super fiber with higher silica (SiO²) and alumina (Al²O³) content than E-Glass (FRP), the highest level of glass fiber, and has 40% higher tensile strength and 5.5% maximum elongation compared to E-Glass. The 5.5% maximum elongation is the highest level of impact resistance of any composite material. The MPG material has been used in many boat rods that have faced and won against a variety of giant fish. The fish caught were bluefin tuna, blackfin tuna, and redfin tuna. The fish caught include bluefin tuna (353 kg), blue marlin (120 kg), bluefin tuna (80 kg), kanagi (67 kg), and kampachi (50 kg), just to name a few.
Then, tailwalk thought ---- "If this material, which has won many battles over the years, could be incorporated into a rod for slow pitch jerking... why not? What could be more interesting? I was so excited! We immediately started working on a prototype, but the interesting thing about rod making is that it is not a simple task. It was easy to add torque and power because of the material's characteristics, but we struggled to balance the high maneuverability that would allow the jig to fly well. We tried many times and made many errors. As a result, we were able to overcome these problems at a high level, and finally produced a tailwalk rod made of MPG material. The bending curve, which knows no bending limits, is in an unknown realm. We hope you will enjoy the "head-on battle" that can never be experienced with straight pumping, when the butt end is bent to the limit against the belly.
Alphatackle MPG(Magnum Power Glass)
A super fiber that involves more components of silica (SiO2) and alumina (Al2O3) than conventional E-glass, taking all performance to a higher level. This unique material is crafted into tubular (hollow) structures, combining the flexibility and durability unique to glass with the lightweight and resilience that conventional glass solid rods couldn't achieve.
GCULDP BLANK SYSTEM
The GCULDP (Graphite Core Ultra-Layered high-Density Pressure manufacturing) blank system employs an
unprecedented multi-layered structure, approximately 3 to 4 times more than conventional MPG rods, achieved by applying high pressure during the forming process to minimize resin content. Layers of sheets are meticulously wound over the core of medium-elasticity carbon core, creating a structure with exceptional density.
Fuji SiC RING GUIDE
Featuring Fuji's SiC rings with an astonishingly low friction resistance, achieving a line lifespan of more than 20 times that of the improved hard rings. The SiC ring guides, used from tip to butt section throughout, boast an overwhelming performance with a thermal conductivity 5.7 times that of the hard rings guides. (all guides are equipped with SiC ring)
MAX DRAG
Numbers at the end, such as 61[3] or 61[5], originally represent the power of the rod. However, in the case of this rod, those numbers are not indicative of its power but serve merely as a notation to visualize the recommended jig weight. Instead, each model is denoted with 'DM' at the end of the model name (abbreviated for Drag Max). This allows users to recognize the power of each rod through separate numerical values. For example, C613 = Drag Max 10kg/C615 = Drag Max15kg, showcasing exceptionally high numerical settings, which would be practically unattainable for carbon tubular- type rods in the same class available in the market.
WRAP PAINTING
The wrap painting, which is also utilized in some flagship models of alphatackle. While respecting the sentiments of predecessors towards MPG, the design is crafted to evoke its charm instantly. The main colors, gold (C613-DM10) representing yellowfin tuna and silver (C615- DM15) representing bluefin tuna, each embody a distinct imagery.
